A few days ago, Tim and Nicki had a "coming out party" where they revealed
the sex of their FIRST baby!
It was so fun. They had everyone at their home and had pink and blue everywhere, it was cute!
Finally, after everyone arrived, it was time to open the envelope.
We all gathered around and hushed to see what Tim would pull out- pink or blue!
He pulled out a baby blue card revealing that a baby boy will be arriving in May.
What great news and a very special blessing.
However, I can't tell this story without mentioning what one of my blessings did.
At the exact moment Tim was about to reach into the envelope, someone yelled,
"there is a kid locked in the bedroom!"
Everyone was hushed ready to hear the baby news and now all the attention is on
the "locked-in kid"---mine.
Now everyone stares at me, like now what and all I could think of was, we can't ruin
Tim and Nicki's moment.
So I said, "go ahead, open the envelope, he'll be o.k. for minute or two!"
You could hear him banging on the door as they opened the envelope and when we all were hugging and celebrating. As the mom of "the kid locked in the bedroom" I could hear him
yelling and pulling on the door knob.
So after Tim kissed his pregnant wife and gave a few high fives, he went and found a pile of keys to try and unlock the door. Thankfully, he found the key and opened it to my sweet boy, with small tears on his cheeks.
He was unharmed and really not that upset.
But he did miss the moment when his future best buddy was revealed!
Oh well.
Of course, of the dozen or two kids running around, it was mine that locked himself in the bedroom.
